Bikers pedaled from Simpsonville to Charleston over the weekend to raise money for Alzheimer’s as part of A Ride to Remember.

The first leg of the three day and 250 mile ride ended with the riders staying in Newberry.

The riders make their way from Simpsonville down Highway 560 to Highway 56 into Newberry County late Friday morning before hitting the Belfast Road and pedaling into Newberry on O’Neal Street.

The bikers spent the night at the Hampton Inn before heading out Highway 395 to Fire Tower Road and to Highway 391 on Saturday morning and on to Orangeburg.

The ride finished on Sunday in Charleston.

The bikers collected money to benefit the South Carolina Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. As of this morning they had raise over $51,000.

All donations for A Ride to Remember benefit the South Carolina Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care, support and research. Learn more about our organization at www.alz.org/sc.
