The annual Prosperity Hoppin’ festival is creeping along and the August event will be here before everyone knows it.

While this is a Town of Prosperity event, the Prosperity Business Association helps out with food.

The one item of food they have that is unique for Prosperity are fried frog legs.

The business association is progressing along on getting all the food taken care of and people can look forward to tasting the frog legs. After all, the town used to be known as Frog Level.

The town is looking to having a restaurant from the downtown area supplying food and it looks like Main Dish will have some all-American food at the festival.

For people not wanting frog legs, there will be other food there such as chicken, fries and other sides.

As for the music, which the town recruits for, Third Generation Band and The Breakers will perform Friday night.

Details are working to be finalized but the association will be there helping out and supplying those frog legs.

The event is Aug. 17 and 18 and T-shirts will be available featuring the town’s Hoppin’ logo on a pink color shirt.

In other association news, there will not be a community yard sale for July or August.

The last musical event will take place Friday, June 20 on the square in Prosperity.

The Breakers will perform at 7 p.m. and this will be the last one of the summer.

This was a summer music concert series put on by the association for all to enjoy the third Fridays of the month.

The Breakers are well-known to the Prosperity area.
