The over $1.4 million sewer project is nearing the end of the line in Little Mountain.

Towards the end of August, the project should be completed according to Newberry County Water and Sewer Authority Manager Brent Richardson.

The project will have a great, positive impact helping out Lake Murray.

The new pump stations will help eliminate wastewater treatment that would end up in Lake Murray and instead divert the flow to the county’s water and sewer authority’s Cannons Creek waste water treatment plant, says Richardson.

The stations are for the town’s apartment complex only.

The project was funded through the S.C. State Revolving Funds Program for the town.
