NEWBERRY — Estelle Walker Pollard, 95, of Nance Street, Newberry died, Tuesday, June 5, 2012.
Born on Nov. 25, 1916, in Alabama, she was a daughter of the late John Edgar and Mary Emily Josephine Thomas Walker.
Mrs. Pollard retired as the lunch room manager for the Moultrie Georgia School System.
She was a member of Indian Creek Primitive Baptist Church of Moultrie. Cooking chocolate cakes and working in her yard were two of her favorite pastimes. She had a beautiful yard, so beautiful that those who passed by would stop to admire her work.
She is survived by her daughter, Faye Pollard Morris (Raymond E.) of Newberry; sons, Tommie Pollard of Panama City, Fla., John Pollard of Silverstreet and Robert Pollard (Jane) of Newberry; adopted daughter-in-law, Beverly Plymel of Moultrie, Ga.; grandchildren, Jodi M.Garrett, Candice M. Lominick, Bobby Pollard, Donna Pollard, Kim Pollard, Tommie Pollard Jr., Guy Pollard, Kerry Pollard, Kevin Plymel and Sharon Robertson; 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Henry Guy Pollard, her adopted son James Darrell Plymel of Moultrie, Ga., brothers and sisters, daughters-in-law, JoAnn Pollard and Joyce Pollard, granddaughter, Missy Pollard and adopted great-granddaughter, Brooke Robertson.
Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. Friday at Cobb Funeral Home, Moultrie, Ga..
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 9, at 11 a.m. at Indian Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Moultrie, Ga. by Brother Dwight Marshall. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery in Moultrie, Ga.
