The Newberry County Sheriff’s Office, South Carolina Highway Patrol, DHEC, and Safe Kids will sponsor a child’s safety seat inspection check point on Friday from 2-6 p.m. in the Goody’s parking lot on Main Street in Newberry.
Certified child safety seat technicians will be on hand to inspect the seats to insure that they are properly installed and in good working order. As an added treat, the officers will also have sticker badges for the kids.
“The few minutes this inspection takes may well save your child’s life,” said Sheriff Lee Foster. “Law enforcement agencies are often seen in a reactive mode and we want to assure our citizens that we want to be proactive to keep them and their children as safe as possible as they travel in our community or further.”
Goody’s is located at 2821 Main Street in Newberry behind Pizza Hut and across the street from Wal-Mart.
