In my brief notice (Patriot monument dedication set for July, Observer May 16, 2012), I did not make mention of the very supportive DAR in the article whereas indeed the Jasper Chapter DAR provided half the cost of the monument.
My only mention of our SAR was in conjunction with plans between SAR and the city.
Our SAR president was involved directly with the city more than once in this planning and I had no knowledge of such involvement between the city and DAR. That was the message I intended to convey, certainly in no way ever to discredit the DAR.
