Bikers come from all across the state for the American Diabetes Association’s Tour de Cure in Little Mountain Saturday. The bikers prepare for the second ride at 10 a.m.; the first one was at 8 a.m.

Bikers of all ages ride Saturday morning in Little Mountain for the Tour de Cure to help raise money for the American Diabetes Association. The ride is just part of what individuals and organizations do; they also fund raise. This year’s goal is $185,000 and people have until June 5 to donate.

Christina Bickley for the American Diabetes Association welcomes all the bikers for the 10 a.m. ride. Earlier there was an 8 a.m. ride. Bickley let the riders know that there are rest stops along the way and thanked everyone for what they have done. She also pointed out that Lori Sussman has raised more than $8,500 and the Dome Team has raised more than $15,000 thus far. Forest Lake Presbyterian out of Columbia gear up for their ride in the Tour de Cure Saturday in Little Mountain. So far, the group has raised about $4,700 and decided that they wanted to do this because there are many people in their congregation with diabetes and wanted to support the American Diabetes Association and get people exercising.

Gilbert Berry is one of the red riders riding in the Tour de Cure Saturday in Little Mountain. The red riders were those wearing the red shirts and have diabetes. Berry has had diabetes for about a year and found out about this cause and decided he wanted to do it. He says he’s been riding for a while.
