Robert Glenmore Shirey of Clinton and Ms. Regina Dennis Shirey of Prosperity announce the engagement of their daughter, Kayla Nicole Shirey, to Jason Edward Koon, both of Newberry. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Edward Koon Jr. of Prosperity. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Wade Shirey and Ms. Ora Mae Goff, all of Newberry, and William Henry Goff of Batesburg. She is also the great-granddaughter of Mrs. Edna Earl Wilson of Newberry. The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Edward Koon Sr. of Prosperity and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Ellis Anderson of Duncan. The wedding is planned for March 14, 2009 in Chapin.
