A College Street clothing store was broken into for the second time in just over a week, and a finance company was also hit by thieves.

Monday, a window was smashed at Hot Fashions, located next to the Zesto, at 2712 College St. The suspect reached inside through the busted window and unlocked the door.

The store’s owner reported 12 pair of Baby Phat designer jeans stolen, along with seven other pairs of jeans. The clothing is valued around $600.

On Jan. 11 or 12, the store was also hit by burglars. On that occasion, jeans, fragrance oils and other items were taken.

Also on Monday, a window was smashed out at Cash Advance at 1511A Kendall Road. The thief then pried open a filing cabinet and stole $23 out of it.

Newberry police are investigating to determine if there are any connections among the three burglaries.

Newberry Police Captain Chuck Counts advises business owners to install alarms and cameras to protect their merchandise.

Anyone with information on the burglaries is asked to call police at 321-1010.

$23 dollars sound like a crackhead move, also after the first break you would think they would get an alarm with that much money worth of goods inside, its a terrible feeling having your stuff stolen I hope they catch whoever. They'll probably be wearing the clothes. lol
