The wreck occurred when the deceased person reportedly crossed the center line of Highway 39 at Workman Kelly Road, near the split with Highway 56.
The driver of the Toyota was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene.
A 31-year-old man from Ward was driving the other vehicle, a Ford truck, and was not injured.
The road was closed for over two hours as the wreck was investigated.
The identity of the person killed will be released once the next of kin has been notified.
However we have learned that the woman killed was 40-years-old and was from Chappells.
