Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. Saturday with the annual tree lighting at the Town Square.
The event, sponsored by the Mid-Carolina Ministerial Association, will feature local church choirs and the Mid-Carolina High School chorus.
As the crowd sings by candlelight, the tree will be lit for the first time this season.
The tree lighting will be followed by the town's Shoppers Walk.
Local merchants will open their doors with special, prizes and discounts during the Shoppers Walk.
As the crowd goes from shop to shop, browsers can enjoy cookies, hot chocolate and ongoing entertainment.
Also for the festive occasion, sidewalks will be lined with luminaria and Santa is scheduled to make an appearance.
On Sunday, the town will roar to life with a parade strolling from South Main Street to the ballfield at 3 p.m.
The parade has more than 100 entrants, with some entrants having 10 or more vehicles.
In order to prepare for the parade, Main Street will be closed at 2 p.m. In case of rain, the parade will be held on Dec. 14.
