One man and a truck: Garbage collection goes automated

Last night, City Council authorized the purchase of a $186,000 automated garbage truck that only needs one worker to collect garbage.

Public works staff says the single-manned automatic truck is as efficient as the current, rear-load collection truck run by three workers.
