As you may be aware, I, along with hundreds of other citizens, attended all of the tax assessment and property tax protests that were held by the Newberry County Council, at the Council's Chambers, the Opera, and Newberry College, you may remember me for I spoke out against the tax increase at nearly all of those meetings.
Though it will be a long time before I overcome the financial tax burden that they imposed, I find it important to note that one man, John David Dawkins, listened to the citizens and voted against the tax increase.
It is important for us to remember that fact now, in the upcoming election, because Mr. Dawkins was the only council member that stood up against the other council members and spoke out against the reassessment every time.
Thus, I ask the citizens of District 2, let's keep our voice strong and re-elect John David Dawkins.
