Filing ended last week for the Town of Silverstreet elections and seats for mayor and council are being contested.
Incumbent Mayor Janice Havird will face opposition from Jennifer Sheppard.
Two council seats are in contention with three people running for the seats. Incumbent Shirley Berry will face Maffet Fant and Travis Gilliam. As the seats are “at-large,” the two candidates with the most votes will win the seats.
Councilman Greg Stoudemire resigned from his council seat.
The town will hold its elections on Nov. 4 at Town Hall, while voters in the general election for that area will cast ballots at the Silverstreet Community Center, just behind the Town Hall.
