Angels do exist...
On Saturday, August 9 in the late afternoon while traveling North on I-26 my wife and I had the misfortune of experiencing a flat tire. We were able to get off the Interstate at one of the Newberry exits (I believe it was Hwy 219) and pull into a center lane where I could begin the process of changing the tire.
I had the jack out and the toy tire we all have to deal with these days when a black pick-up truck came from the East and parked in front of our car.
The gentleman who got out said he had passed us a few minutes before and went home to get his large shop jack. In only a few minutes he had it under the car, the car up and we proceeded to change the tire very quickly. He even put the flat in the back and directed us to the Wal-Mart where we were able to get the tire replaced and continue on our way.
Having a flat tire on the Interstate is exciting enough, having someone, whose name I am sorry to say I failed to get, stop to help needs to be recognized for the kind deed that it was...My sincere thanks for all of his help. It was indeed a generous act involving his time and efforts and he was gone before I could even turn around and head toward the tire repair.
Too often we hear the bad or sensational news and this is a good news story that deserves mention.
If you publish this and he reads it my wife and I want to again express out sincere thanks for making our trip a little easier.
Kind Regards,
