The town plans for $647,060 of matching revenue and expenditure for its general budget, and $978,056 for its Commission of Public Works budget.
The general budget total is up $797 or .1 percent from last year‘s total. The Commission of Public Works' budget rose a little more than 5-percent for an approximate $50,000 increase.
A significant line item in the Public Works budget was for approximately $26,000 to add chlorine dioxide in the town's water treatment process. The chemical must be made and injected onsite of Whitmire‘s water plant.
Mayor Tim Carroll said taxes will not increase.
