Storms on Wednesday brought down trees and power lines, as lightening killed some electronics, but some areas of the county have yet to see any much needed rain.
The storms began in to strike just after 5 p.m. in the Whitmire, Pomaria, Little Mountain and downtown Newberry areas.
Throughout the area a number of limbs and trees fell to the ground during the high winds.
Newberry Electric Co-op reported around 300 customers had power outages between 5:15 p.m. and 4 a.m. The average length of the outage was around two hours.
Newberry City Manager Eric Budds reported only minor outages.
“The storm was nothing too substantial,“ said Bubbs.
But the storm brought significant lightening with it causing some people to head to Wal-Mart to purchase new televisions to watch their night time show after their old ones were damaged.
Storms the past two nights have brought much needed rain to the county.
