Local Democrats will host a stump meeting tomorrow for citizens to meet the party's candidates in the upcoming elections.

The Democratic stump meeting will be at 7 p.m. at Dave Waldrop's picnic area located at 2396 Spearman Road, Newberry.

“Everyone is invited to come out and meet the candidates who will be on the ballot for the June 10 Primary Election and the Nov. 2 General Election,“ said party member Lisa Toland.

Toland said the local Democratic candidates for both elections will be meeting the public and making speeches.

Also, there is a chance that U.S. Congressman John Spratt may attend the event.

The event is free but donations to support the candidates will be accepted.

Spearman Road is located between Belfast Road and Highway 34 in Silverstreet. From Newberry, take O'Neal Street past Newberry Middle School. The road will turn into Belfast Road. Spearman will be about two miles on the left. The property is near Reuben Elementary School.
