Fire officials are still working to determine the cause of an overnight house fire.

Fire broke out early this morning at the mobile home belonging to Robert Dyer in the Lakeview community off Highway 395 in the Stoney Hill area of the county.

The fire totally destroyed the home, said Prosperity Fire Chief Mark Bowers, adding no one was home at the time of the blaze.

“We don't know the cause,” said Bowers, adding that the circumstances are not suspicious, but investigators will work to determine the origin of the flames.

The Prosperity, Silversreet and Hollywood fire departments and the Prosperity Rescue Squad responded to the blaze.

Yesterday, the Prosperity department responded to four calls. Those included: a minor fire in a steamer in the kitchen at Little Mountain Elementary and a car fire and a wreck on Stoney Hill Road. In the wreck, a driver clipped a utility pole, flipped the vehicle and was trapped in the car. The driver was not seriously injured.
