A Winnsboro woman has pleaded guilty to her part in a murder that resulted in a man's body being dumped in the pond at Molly's Rock.

Keith A. Sims, 23, of Columbia, shot and killed Bryan Anderson, 21, also of Columbia on New Year's Eve of 2003.

Natalie Josphene English, 28, of 11301 Monticello Road, Winnsboro, was taken to court for helping to hide the crime.

After shooting Anderson in the face in Richland County, Sims, with others, drove to Molly's

Rock and tied cement block anchors to Anderson's body. They then threw him into the pond.

English pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact of the murder and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Her sentence was suspended to two years in prison and three years probation.

English helped to throw Anderson's body into the pond, hid evidence in the case and assisted Sims in eluding arrest.

Sims shot Anderson inside the victim's car.

The victim died as a result of a single gunshot wound to the face, according to Coroner James Smith.

Investigators later learned that Anderson was shot in Columbia and brought to Molly's Rock after he was dead.

Anderson's body was dragged from the parking area at the park to the pond, according to Sheriff Lee Foster.

After dumping Anderson into the pond, Sims reportedly went back to Columbia where he left Anderson's Ford Crown Victoria with blue triangular shapes painted on it at Colony East Apartment Complex on Kay Street in the St. Andrews area.

While investigating the case, police traveled to Columbia where they learned Anderson was last seen at the Adam's Mark Hotel in Columbia in the early morning hours of New Year's Eve five years ago with Sims.

As the probe continued, investigators placed Sims at a club on US Highway 176 near Pomaria.

Before investigators could approach Sims, the suspect noticed two patrol cars ride by the club and reportedly told a bystander he needed to leave in a hurry.

The bystander was driving Sims from the area when Sims reportedly began to confess to the man.

On New Year's Day 2004, Sims was charged with the murder of Anderson. Sims was found guilty of the murder in March 2006 by a Columbia jury, and sentenced to 40 years in prison.
