WHITMIRE - Evelyn W. Yarbrough, 88, of Whitmire, widow of Johnny T. Yarbrough, died Saturday at White Oak Manor.

Born in Little Mountain she was a daughter of the late Willie Franklin and Mamie Olive Frick White. She was employed by Simpsons Department Store and retired from Whitten Center. She was a charter member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church where she was a member of the LCW. She was also a member of the Young at Heart and Friendship Club.

She is survived by daughters, Roya Y. Smith of Whitmire and Bettie Y. (B.J.) Coker of Hopkins; sisters, Verna W. McKain of Newberry and Mary W. McDuffie of Mooresville, N.C.; grandchildren, Laura M. Holmberg of Simpsonville, Clifton M. Smith of Whitmire and Dawn A. ( David) Lisk of Ft. Mill; and a great-grandson, Chase M. Holmberg. She was predeceased by five sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at St. Timothy Lutheran Church by the Rev. John Weaver. Burial will follow in Whitmire Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Memorials may be made to St. Timothy Lutheran Church, P.O. Active pallbearers will be Benny Frick, Kevin Worley, Tim Streets, Michael Thomas, Tom Stroud and Jerry Koon.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Baker Senior Center.
