WHITMIRE - Funeral services for Charles Antnio Rice will be conducted on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Shiloh Apostolic Temple, Maybinton Road by Pastor Geneva Ware. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Rice died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008, at the Newberry County Hospital.
Born in Newberry County, he was the son of Carrie Rice and Eugene Sims. A faithful member of Shiloh Apostolic Temple, he was employed with the Renfro Corporation in Whitmire. Charles was also a member of the Magnolia Lodge #80 and served in the Desert Storm War.
He was predeceased by a grandmother, Louise McMorris Rice, and uncle, John Arthur Rice. Surviving are his wife, Prenetta Rice; son, Jemochaine Stinsor of Whitmire; brother, Maxey Sims of Santuck; sister, Sharon Sims; mother, Carrie L. Rice of Columbia; father, Eugene Sims (Calireece) of Santuck; two uncles, George Rice Sr. (Ossie) and David Rice (Wilhelmina R.); one great-uncle, Cleophus (Ruth) McMorris; three aunts, Mary Melinda Rice of Whitmire, Ruby Lee Rice of California and Cleo Johnson of Clinton; great-aunts, Shirly Hobo of Detroit, Mich. and Vera Rice of Washington, DC; father-in-law, Elder Robert; mother-in-law, Alice Stinson of Whitmire; sister-in-law Pastor Geneva Ware (Earl) of Whitmire; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday.
