Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Bedenbaugh Jr. of Pomaria announce the engagement of their daughter, Renee Rae Bedenbaugh of Chapin, to Christopher W. Routon of Newberry. The groom-elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Routon of Newberry.

The bride's maternal grandparents are Ola Mae Doolittle and the late Ray C. Doolittle; paternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Jesse C. Bedenbaugh Jr.

The groom's maternal grandparents are Rose Mazzanti and the late Mike Mazzanti; paternal grandparents are Jane Routon and the late Woodfin Routon.

The groom is employed at Southeastern Insurance Consultants. The bride is employed at Newberry Physical Therapy.

The wedding will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2008, at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.
