With only a day left until Turkey Day, several area churches are reminding the Newberry community just how much there is to be thankful for.

Thanksgiving services are happening all around the county this evening, and the public is invited to join in the festivities.

At 6:30 tonight, Mt. Olive A.M.E. Church in Kinards will host a Praise and Thanks service.

In the city, Central United Methodist Church will hold its Newberry Community Thanksgiving Eve Service at 7 p.m. A love offering will be collected to benefit the Free Medical Clinic of Newberry County.

Then at 7:30 tonight, Zion United Methodist Church is hosting this year's Interdenominational Community Thanksgiving Service. Each year, a different church and different pastor are asked to host and lead the annual service.

This year, the Rev. Jerry Trantham of Colony Lutheran Church will be the speaker. The service will include music and words of Thanksgiving with light refreshments served afterwards in the church's Family Life Center.
