A new subdivision is ready for development in the Silverstreet area.

Just over a year ago national developer, Creative Real Estate Development Corporation out of Minnesota, purchased 80 acres near the Saluda River Resort.

For the past year the company has planned the subdivision. The subdivision is laid out in 62 lots that are an acre or bigger, according to Prosperity attorney Hank Bufkin who represents Creative.

Creative is not in the business of building homes but planning subdivisions and selling lots.

The developer has filed covenants that will restrict what types of housing can be built in the community.

The developer has also paved the roadways into the subdivision. These roads have been approved by state officials and were accepted into the county road system on Wednesday.

Bufkin said since this is the first time the county has done this that County Council was diligent in setting the criteria.

In doing so, the county has required that the developer put up a line of credit totalling over $75,000, just in case the roads prove unsatisfactory.

The new roads for the subdivision near the river are named: River Crest Court, Canal Park Court, Valley View Court, River Ridge Lane and Ridge Line Court.
