PROSPERITY - Agnes Ruth Elliott Jones, 87, of Prosperity, died Nov. 5, 2007, at her residence.
Born in White Pine, Tenn., she was a daughter of the late James Myles and Minnie Belle McCoig Elliott. Mrs. Jones was retired from the Wheaton, Ill. Post Office, was a lifetime member of the American Legion and an avid crotchetier.
Surviving are a son, Hollis (Kathy) Jones of Lemont, Ill.; a daughter, Alma (Jake) Harper of Prosperity; 12 grandchildren, including two grandsons that she reared, Tom Jones and Mitch (Michelle) Jones; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; six step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Jones was predeceased by a son, Willard “Frank” Jones, brothers, George “G.W.” Elliott, James Elliott and Hubert “Buddy” Elliott, and sisters, Mary Tom Elliott Gorny and Minnie Elliott Anderlick.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at Witts Baptist Church in Morristown, Tenn. by the Rev. Clarence Bear. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
