WHITMIRE - Funeral services for Mary (Doll) Jeter Brown are planned for 3 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007, at Jeter's Chapel AM.E. Church, Carlisle.

Mrs. Brown was born in Union County to the late Charner and Matilda Jeter.

Mary was predeceased by her husband Roland Gaston Brown; sons, Larry Brown Sr. and Norman Brown; and daughter, Shirley Brown Land. She leaves to cherish her memories one son, Curentha (Vanessa) Jeter; two daughters, Phyllis Brown Epps and Susie (Joe) Brown; son-in-law, Robert Lewis Land Sr. of Santuck; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Agnew Brown of Whitmire; two sisters-in-law, Martha Jeter of Santuck and Alice Brown Burns of Charlotte, N.C.; a devoted granddaughter and primary caretaker, Melinda Shante Epps of the home; 18 other grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Grandma Doll, as she was commonly called, is genuinely loved and will be dearly missed by many.

An informal drop-in is planned from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Hunter's Funeral Home on Main Street in Whitmire. The family is receiving friends at the home on 96 Satterwhite St., Whitmire.

Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
