LITTLE MOUNTAIN — Tears of Joy will be moving out of the Section House at the end of the month, and the owners will have the utilities cut off by that time.

Mayor Jana Jayroe said they will go ahead and put the utilities in the name of the town.

Jayroe also mentioned that after Tears of Joy has moved out, Town Council need to go ahead and evaluate what repairs are needed for the Section House.

“I know we were interested in repairing the pipes underneath the house so they can withstand the winter months,” she said.

Councilman Marty Frick also said underpinning is also needed.

“I think we should walk through it after Oct. 1, and see what else is needed. Like painting, and other repairs, like in the bathroom and things like that,” Jayroe said. “We can come up with a list for the next meeting.”

Frick also mentioned the squirrel problem in the duct system.

“If we can come up with some way to encase that duct work with something hard that squirrels will not eat,” he said.

Based on the recommendations already mentioned during the meeting, Cindy Farr, town clerk, will get a price from a handyman on winterizing the pipes, underpinning, touching up the paint and encasing the area to get rid of the squirrel problem.
