LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Newberry College fell in the second round of the ECAC tournament to Lindenwood College by a score of 4-0.

The Lions scored two goals in each half. The first goal coming at the 7:39 minute mark when Linda Bonagura grabbed the ball off a penalty corner and deflected it into the right side of the goal.

A little over a minute later Greta Banholzer scored a goal off a pass from Nicole Johnston. Greta Banholzer scored her second goal and ninth goal of the year at the 37:48 minute mark. Karlie Quinn scored the last goal at the 44:25 minute mark.

The Wolves took eight shots, two on goal while attempting seven penalty corners. Lindenwood took 13 shots and eight on goal while taking seven penalty corners.

Newberry College fell in the first round of the ECAC field hockey tournament to Limestone College by a 5-1 score.

Limestone scored two goals in the first half. The first one coming early in the game at the 5:56 minute mark off the stick of Nicolle Grant. The second goal came from Stembeni Zhanda at the 20:47 minute mark as dribbled through the defense to take the shot from about 5 yards away.

Thirteen minutes and 36 seconds into the second half Courtlyn Warren scored off a textbook penalty corner. Hannah Collins and Caitlyn Warren notched the assists for the Wolves.

The Saints scored the next three goals, first one at the 58:00 minute mark when Jill Funkhouser had a one on one with Newberry goal keeper and scored easily. Six minutes and 37 seconds later Funkhouser scored her second goal off a rebound. Courtney Tully scored the final goal three minutes later off an assist from Funkhouser.

The Wolves took five shots, one on goal while attempting six penalty corners. Limestone took 16 shots and nine on goal while taking seven penalty corners.
