NEWBERRY — Newberry College senior forward Michelle Calmeyn has been named the Corvias Eastern College Athletic Conference Division II Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the ECAC office late Tuesday.

Calmeyn scored four goals last week as Newberry won twice to clinch a spot in the South Atlantic Conference tournament. In a 2-1 overtime win over Brevard, she opened the scoring late in the first half, then scored the game-winner three minutes into the OT.

In a 3-0 win over Mars Hill on Senior Day, she scored the first and third goals of the game. The senior now has 15 total goals this season, establishing a new Newberry College record for goals in a season.

Calmeyn and the Wolves wrap up the regular season at Lenoir-Rhyne this Saturday for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
