Chapin-Newberry has full week of games


NEWBERRY — Chapin-Newberry has a busy week starting with a road game to play West-Columbia at Airport High School at 7 p.m. June 15.

The undefeated Chapin-Newberry team (6-0) then has a series of home games starting on June 16 as they host Orangeburg at 7 p.m. at Newberry College and follow that up by hosting Lexington on June 18 at the Smith Road Complex also at 7 p.m.

Starting Friday afternoon, the Chapin-Newberry team will host the ninth annual NC-SC American Legion Challenge. Greenwood, Florence and Chapin-Newberry will be facing off against Shelby, Hickory and Henderson in nine games over the three days of the tournament.

On June 19, Greenwood will face Henderson at 4:30 p.m. followed by Chapin-Newberry vs Henderson at 7 p.m. Saturday morning, Greenwood faces Shelby at 11 a.m., Greenwood and Hickory will play at 1:30 p.m., Florence vs Henderson at 4 p.m. with the nightcap of Chapin-Newberry vs Shelby at 7 p.m.

Sunday starts at noon with Florence vs Shelby followed by Florence vs Hickory at 3 p.m. and the final game of the challenge, Chapin-Newberry and Hickory at 6 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for under 12 and under.
