NEWBERRY — The Newberry High School football team made quick work in their 34-0 victory over Pelion

Friday evening.

Heavy substituting started occurring after just 16 plays as Newberry had already scored five

times with four of the scores coming on drives of three plays or less.

Yafari Werts scored on runs of 33 yards and a yard while Chris Wadsworth and Amir Abrams

scored on runs of two and four yards respectively.

The other touchdown came on a 42-yard pass from Werts to Zicorious Riley.

The 7-2 Bulldogs will travel to Memorial Stadium next week to close out their

regular season against Columbia.
