PROSPERITY — Mid-Carolina High School will stay at home tonight to take on Eau Claire in a conference match up. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.

Like Mid-Carolina, Eau Claire is also 3-5 on the season. However, while the Shamrocks are coming off a dominant win over Columbia 35-12, the Rebels are looking to rebound from a meeting with conference rival Newberry last Friday.

Although the final score of 33-7 could be considered a rout, head coach Louis Alexander did not think the Rebels’ performance was all bad.

“I think we ran it well at times, actually probably a little better than I thought we were going to run it coming in,” said Alexander.

Alexander owed much of their struggle against the Bulldogs to an excess of penalties.

“They beat us physically up front but then we beat ourselves with our own mistakes,” said Alexander.

In addition to the game, the 2015 Homecoming Queen will be crowned at halftime.

The Rebels will need to emerge victorious tonight in their penultimate contest if they want to have any chance of ending the season with a .500 record.

Mid-Carolina closes its regular season campaign next week at home against Fairfield Central.
