WHITMIRE — The Lady Wolverines opened the season against Great Falls on Tuesday and were able to play a hard fought game and get the win 32-25, beginning the season 1-0.
The Lady Wolverines went down early, although they were getting good looks at the basket. They fought hard in the second quarter to cut the deficit to two and came out in the third quarter playing great team basketball on both ends of the floor. The fourth quarter was a little sloppy, but the girls were able to put it all together and play tough defense to secure the victory.
Raegan Kendrick led the scoring for the Lady Wolverines with 11 points. Kaylynn Roche added 10, Taylor Peay eight and Alexus Sanders three.
Roche led the team in rebounds with 10 which gave her a double-double Tuesday. Kendrick had five rebounds, Samantha Strubeck and Deja Livingston three, and five players had two.
Sanders also led the team with nine steals and six assists.
