ROCK HILL — Junior goalkeeper Bradley Dixon has been named AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Co-Player of the Week after leading Newberry to a 1-0-1 record in games this week.

Dixon notched 28 saves during the week, with career-high 19 coming in the midweek draw over Lees-McRae. This performance put him amongst the top six in Newberry men’s soccer history for most goalie saves in an individual match. He finished off the week saving nine shots in the double overtime win against Mars Hill. Dixon sits at the top in the SAC for saves on the season.

The Wakefield, England native ranks fourth in the nation in saves per game (7.10) and is now amongst the top 20 nationally in total saves on the season. The award is his first Player of the Week honor this season.

Dixon was honored by the league along with Edgar Cervantes, a midfielder from Tusculum.
