Rebels prepared for Wolverines

PROSPERITY — The Mid-Carolina High School Rebels are at home tonight as they prepare to take on the Woodruff High School Wolverines.

After losing to Chapman High School last week, the Rebels have been working defensively to stop the run (zone schemes), tackling and defending the deep ball better and offensively work at running the ball better.

“Woodruff is very good defensively. Offensively, they have had some injuries in spots that have slowed them in what they want to do. They have some play makers offensively and their linebacker and secondary play is very good,” said Head Coach Louie Alexander.

The strategy going into tonight’s game is to try to stay as balanced as possible, stay patient and take what the defense gives them, according to Alexander.

In order to secure a win against Woodruff, Alexander said that the team will need to continue to work on sustaining blocks to get some vertical movement up front and leveraging the ball defensively.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
