NEWBERRY — Newberry College Director of Golf Howard Vroon has announced the hiring of Hannah Luckett as Associate Head Coach for Women’s Golf.

“We are very pleased to welcome Hannah to our coaching staff,” said Vroon. “She had an outstanding career as a player, and distinguished herself quickly as a very valuable member of the Limestone coaching staff.”

Luckett will handle the day-to-day coaching responsibilities of the women’s team in her role as Associate Head Coach for Women’s Golf. Vroon will continue to oversee both the men’s and women’s programs and serve as the men’s head coach.

For the past year, Luckett has served as an assistant to the men’s and women’s golf teams at Limestone College. During her time at Limestone, Luckett had six players named to the Conference Carolinas all-conference team, recruited a student-athlete from the Austrian National Team, and brought in a freshman class that was ranked as the No. 1 freshman impact women’s class according to Golfstat. Luckett also raised over $100,000 in alumni giving for the men’s and women’s golf programs.

Vroon said Luckett “understands and is familiar with the challenges of building a strong women’s college golf program, and she is enthusiastic and committed to doing so.”

Luckett competed as a student-athlete on the Limestone women’s golf team from 2012-2016 and helped lead Limestone to its first-ever conference championship in 2014. During her time with the program, she served as captain for three seasons and earned numerous accolades. Luckett was a four-time all-conference selection, three-time all-conference tournament team and three-time team MVP recipient.

Luckett graduated from Limestone in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management.
