COLUMBIA — The University of South Carolina announced its non-conference women’s basketball schedule Wednesday and as part of a much anticipated year, the Newberry College Wolves will travel to the Colonial Life Arena for an exhibition contest on Nov. 6.

The game will be the first recorded meeting between Newberry and South Carolina in women’s basketball action. Both teams are coming off of NCAA Tournament appearances in their respective divisions, with Newberry playing in the first round of the NCAA Division II Tournament and South Carolina advancing to the Division I Final Four.

Newberry went 21-11 in the 2014-15 campaign and won the South Atlantic Conference Tournament championship. The Wolves are slated to return three starters including first team all-SAC honoree Samantha Creed, SAC all-freshman team member Nicola Handreck and Jaya Schultz.

More information on tipoff time and ticket information will be released when made available by the South Carolina athletic department.
