PROSPERITY — The Mid-Carolina Rebels are ready to take on the Woodruff Wolverines after coming off a 51-7 loss against Chapman High School last week.

“We’ve had a decent week of practice. Everyone was excited to be there and everyone showed up. The team has been working really hard and that’s all that we can really ask for. The more confidence we have, the better we play,” said Mid-Carolina Football Coach Louie Alexander.

This week in practice, the Rebels have been focusing on being more physical up front on both sides of the ball. Alexander said that they have been working on correcting mistakes on secondary and getting people in the right place at the right time.

“Offensively and defensively, we’re coming along and getting better,” he said. “Woodruff has an explosive offense. They are very athletic in the back and they like to stretch the field vertically.”

To bring home a win tonight, Alexander said the Rebels will need to establish drives up front and eat the clock up, as well as perform better on secondary.

The Rebels are currently 0-8 in regular season play and 0-3 in region. The Wolverines are going into this game 5-3 overall and are 2-1 in region play. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.
