DUE WEST – The Newberry College men’s tennis team swept non-conference opponent Erskine 9-0 on Monday for the second win of the season.

The match moved the Wolves to 2-0 on the year and drops Erskine to 0-1.

The Wolves won with ease in their opening doubles matches against Erskine as Jordan Monoskyand Edison Ambarzumjan cruised to an 8-2 win at No. 1.

Logan Adkins and Richard Zeh claimed an 8-3 victory at No. 2, and Angel Pizarro and Nihkil Mannepalli finished off the doubles sweep with a default win at No. 3.

Newberry also swept through singles play as Monosky (6-4, 3-6, 10-5), Ambarzumjan (6-4, 6-0), Mannepalli (6-2, 6-2), Pizarro (6-0, 6-0), Alex Amble (6-0, 6-1), and Zeh (Default) were all victorious at No. 1 through No. 6 singles.

Newberry will continue non-conference play Wednesday when they travel to Central to face Southern Wesleyan (0-0). The match is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
