NEWBERRY – The Newberry College Wolves have named Alexis Carrillo as the team’s goalkeeper coach for the 2016 season.

In 2015, Carrillo started in eight of the 10 games she played, and tabbed 84 saves on the season. In 2014, she started in 19 games for the Wolves, posting a 9-5-4 record in goal. Alexis made 69 saves for a goals against average of .57.

Carrillo has helped train goalkeepers with Artesia High School in California for a couple years.

Alexis has also spent some time at Cerritos College where she was named First Team All-American, First Team All-West Region, and Second Team South Coast Conference player.

In 21 games, Carrillo held a 15-0-1 record and a 0.43 goals against average with five shutouts.

In 2011, she was named First Team All-South Coast Conference with a 13-2-0 record to go along with 12 shutouts and a 0.28 goals against average.
