NEWBERRY — Anytime Fitness of Newberry officially opened its doors to the public on Aug. 12, more than a year after the lease was signed.Grant Wells and Jessica Shealy, owner/operators of the gym, said the lease was signed July 24, 2013, but unforeseen construction delays caused the business to open much later than originally anticipated. The 5,000-square-foot facility provides 24-hour access to its members. Upon registering, Shealy said members will receive a key fob that gives them access to the facilities even when unstaffed.Safety should not be a concern for members who want to use the gym after hours.
