Wolverines look to bring the War Eagles down during homecoming

WHITMIRE — After last week’s loss to North High School, the Whitmire Community School Wolverines (2-1) are looking to get back in the win column with their homecoming game against Wagener-Salley High School’s War Eagles (1-2).“We are just ready to redeem ourselves. We did not put on a good show for Hall of Fame night,” Coach Charlie Jenkins said.The two teams have faced off against each other seven times since 1978, and the Wolverines lead the series 5-2, but they did lose to the War Eagles last year 6-60.

The Newberry County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incidents:— Likevis Rasheem Jackson, 21, of 16 Pine Valley Road, Newberry, was charged with simple possession of marijuana on Sept. 6. While assisting Highway Patrol with a traffic stop, Jackson informed deputies that he had marijuana in his possession.
