Newberry PG signs with Denmark Tech Panthers

NEWBERRY — After guiding Newberry High School to the final four in the AA girls basketball playoffs, point guard Arnasia Boyd realized a dream Monday when she signed to play basketball for the Denmark Tech Panthers.Boyd joins several Lady Bulldogs in the college ranks from recent seasons including Khadijah Mathis (Tri-County Tech), Kristi Hawkins (Newberry College) and Tyndell Mendenhall (Erskine).Denmark Tech Assistant Coach Javon Gilliard said the school was excited to add a player of Boyd’s caliber.“When we recruited her and watched her practice we could see that she would fit well in our system,” Gilliard said.
