Family traditions begin at Camp Horseshoe

PROSPERITY — Experience from a former camp led Wilton Dennis to what has now become a large part of his life at Camp Horseshoe in Prosperity.Born in his grandparents’ house in Prosperity, Dennis has been the face of Camp Horseshoe since 1998.Dennis is a graduate of the University of Georgia and spent 35 years in Atlanta working with the Peachtree Road United Methodist Church before coming back home. The church had a program similar to the format of Camp Horseshoe. The camp, which was originally named “farm camp,” would teach kids in Atlanta how to ride and care for horses.
