Bulldogs close soccer season with upset at Ninety Six NINETY SIX — The Newberry High boys’ soccer season came to a close Thursday at Ninety Six High School as they were defeated by the Wildcats 6-4 in the second round of the AA upper-state playoffs.

Summer youth ball registration ongoing NEWBERRY — All young baseball enthusiasts are encouraged to register to play baseball and softball this summer.
The City of Newberry is registering now through June 7 for those interested in playing. Baseball is for ages 9 through 12 and softball is for ages 9 through 14. The birthday cut off is June 1 and a birth certificate is required at registration for new players. For more information, call 321-1015.
NC signs 2 basketball players from North Carolina NEWBERRY — Newberry College head men’s basketball coach Dave Davis has announced the signing of two guards from North Carolina in Mason Spease of Central Cabarrus High School in Concord and Matt Spears from Charlotte Country Day.

Tour de Cure comes to Little Mountain LITTLE MOUNTAIN — The South Carolina Tour de Cure event was held Saturday in Little Mountain with the starting point beginning at 692 Mill St. at the Little Mountain Elementary School.
The event kicked off at 6:30 a.m. with registration for the 100 and 65 mile ride which started at 7:30 a.m. The route length options for the Tour de Cure were 5, 15, 30, 65, and 100 miles. Stationary bikes were also available.
