Whitmire High School’s Senior Beta Club placed third in state at South Carolina Beta Club Convention for scrap booking. This is their sixth year in a row placing in the top three. Fourth-graders show off talent
Whitmire Community School’s fourth-graders performed an original play titled ‘Flashback to Freedom’ on Feb. 28. Students wrote their own lines, planned their costumes, and created their own props. Students also learned the lyrics to “The Star Spangled Banner” and performed it during the play.

NEWBERRY — Newberry City Council voted to move forward with a grant that would upgrade water and sewer services in the Mollohon Mill Village. City leaders are applying for a Community Development Block Grant for $500,000 to upgrade the water and wastewater lines in a portion of the Mollohon Mill Village. The Newberry Academy’s 3-, 4- and 5-year-old kindergarten classes recently invited their families to a “burger buddy” lunch. The students enjoyed hosting their special guests and were proud to share their musical talent and classroom activities with everyone.
