PROSPERITY — The Mid-Carolina Middle School students who have participated in the Duke University Talent Identification Program are Camryn Long, Taylor Martin, Andrew Pugh, Matthew Scott, Jonah Shealy, Rachael Shealy and Zane Swift. NEWBERRY — The Newberry County School Board examined ways on Monday to not raise taxes during their second budget work session. The school district has a relatively healthy fund balance - savings account - of about $10 million and contemplated dipping into the savings as opposed to raising the millage. Beaufort woman rescued in Lynch’s Woods
NEWBERRY — A Beaufort County woman was rescued Sunday night in Lynch’s Woods after a fallen tree incident. The woman was rescued and taken to Newberry County Memorial Hospital after a two college students reported the accident to 911 after 7 p.m. Sunday. The woman was on the horse trail in rough terrain.
