LITTLE MOUNTAIN — The students of Little Mountain Elementary have raised over $800 for St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, which was heavily damaged by fire recently. On Feb. 8, the Little Mountain Elementary Parent-Teacher Organization held a Valentine’s Day dance and collected a love fund for the church. St. Paul bracelets were also sold. Summer’s column The Buffy Tree is being used a part of the “Chicken Soup for the Soul: 101 Heartwarming and Humorous Stories about the Joys of Raising Children of All Ages.” It first ran as one of Summer’s many Women in Motion columns featured in The Observer. LITTLE MOUNTAIN — Jana Jayroe is the new mayor of Little Mountain after she was the only person to file for the position during the original filing period. The write-in deadline was noon Friday.
