Newberry, Mid-Carolina and Whitmire high schools kicked off their football seasons Friday morning with the start of fall practice. In a new rule, the players can only wear shorts for the first three days before putting on pads. Mid-Carolina has the first game of the season on Aug. 17 and all three county high schools will be in action on Aug. 24. The Newberry High team, pictured above, is already getting ready for the season.
